Parking needs help
The stadium staff is very nice and helpful. Vendors thank you for your purchase, call you by your name, and wish you a great night. Energy level is unmatched. The stadium is awesome.
I came in off 435 going west on State avenue, took a left in front of Target, and drove in front of the stadium looking for the east entrance. Parking needs a lot of help. I made my way past the empty lots of NFM and into the empty lots of Cabelas, here I saw the first sign for a parking area for the game.
After much coaxing, the parking attendant finally told me which areas could be used for parking. I was then approached by an attendant who told me the tow truck was on its way...to tow me out of an empty lot at 7:30 on a Wednesday evening.
I finally chose a spot after driving around for 10 minutes past rows and rows of empty spaces being guarded against entry. The gentleman asked me if I was looking for general parking and gave me 3-part directions to the designated area.
I had to rely solely on the verbal directions I was given because there was only one sign along the path which clearly directed me towards a possible parking spot. At the light, I see the second sign that indicated my parking lot adventure could be coming to an end.
On I went past rows and rows of empty spaces till I finally found the correct area. My hopes were squashed by a gentleman in an orange vest. I got to hop on a shuttle and take a 5-minute ride back past the rows of empty spaces to be dropped off at the stadium entrance.
But my great parking adventure didn't end there. After the game, I got the opportunity to wait in line for 15 minutes and ride the shuttle back to my parking area, but not the original stop because the drop-offs had been condensed after the last whistle.
After making my way to the edge of the lot, I found my car and made my way home. This parking adventure is a frustrating part of the evening that takes away from the great experience that you have set out to enjoy.
There has to be a better way, maybe start by clearly marking directions for parking for customers coming from all directions, not just one. The parking map was less than helpful, I tried to look to the parking area on the map section of the Aliza Kelly's Haunted Tea Party app, but the streets are not marked and I was unable to zoom in to try and view streets.
Bottom line. Improve parking, it is a part of the sporting experience as well.
